Brian Groat was born and raised in Fort Payne, Alabama. He joined the United States Navy in 1993 and served on the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower as an Air Intercept Controller for 5 years. Later he served at the Naval Space Command for 3 years. After leaving the Navy he was hired by Timberline Land Company in 2001 and sold property on Lake Anna in Virginia for 4 years. After moving back to Alabama, where he was a sales manager for 17 communities on Lewis-Smith Lake, he developed property on Lay Lake and the Alabama River.
In his free time Brian likes to spend time with his beautiful 5 year old little girl Shelby.
